Let me ask you, when 2016 rolls around and Obama steps down without incident and the election goes as usual... what then? Would you be more skeptical of these stories in the future or no?

Females too. I know a young woman who was brought up in the Ukranian SSR, before the break up of the USSR. Military training was part of the secondary school curriculum: firearms safety and handling, elementary tactics, Military Customs and Traditions, and so on. Kind of like JrROTC.

Again, foreign military and civilian security personnel have come to the US for training for a long time.
I have no use for the current administration, but before I panic over the presence of a relative handful of Russian Civil Defense personnel training on US soil, I’ll need a LOT more evidence that this is somehow a threat.

“security at mass events” does not sound like medical and disaster relief to me, nor does it sound like “training”. That’s the statement that got my ears up.
What is their definition of a ‘mass event”?
