they hate it because it gives free people energy to prosper and stay alive. they must control it to control us.
Exactly, they hate it because it is portable, autonomous, can be traded, and cannot be shut off with a switch at the NSA (unlike electricity and natural gas). It's also why they hate gasoline and the burning of wood. Their hatred has NOTHING to do with clean air. It is all about eliminating those things that allow us to heat our homes and cook our food without their permission.
