Does anyone have first hand experience with the FN PS 90?
I have a PS-90, and it is a very sweet rifle.
Would it be a 'good' self defense choice for a woman who is not comfortable with a 5.56×45mm carbine due to weight and recoil? (Not me.)
It is a great choice for someone who needs a light rifle with minimal recoil. The longer barrel version (like mine) has a muzzle velocity of 2200 fps, which packs a lot of punch for a tiny projectile.
Does it feed reliably?
My husband, my friends, and I have run the equivalent of two dozen 50rd mags through the rifle without a jam or ftf. We stocked up just before the panic buying of ammo caused by the g'mint. It takes a search, but the ammo is still available. Be persistent.
Or is this a gun designed for a full auto machine pistol role which loses value when confined to a semi auto capability?
The rifle performs just fine in semi-auto mode, but whether to convert to full auto is up to the owner. We opted to stick with semi-auto.

"I have a PS-90, and it is a very sweet rifle." There it is! With a couple of ol' range rats but just ignore them...
