They printed out an index and made it available to the public as a result of the numerous questions iirc; whatever the reason, it’s there, and it has a source. They printed the year dates on the headers of every index as 1960 - 1964 but the index of births came without any year-dates. Tricky.

There may be more than one anomaly, but I’m simply focusing on the one. The one anomaly that is of interest is the DUPLICATE entry for OBADO which appears directly above the name OBAMA...and the only way you will be able to follow why, is to follow the thread. It’s futile that I repeat myself only to be told that OBADO DUPLICATE MAE is some sort of cancelled or mistaken entry.

It’s there to cover something we shouldn’t see.

Specifically, only ONE Index (of General Birth book) did not have the official date range printed on the pages. That was the Birth Index book which contained obama’s entry. But! Butter DID receive one page from a 1960-1964 Birth Index which DID have the official date range printed in the proper places.

The (same) book you are given to view at the HI DOH counter does NOT have the date range.

All other Index books did - EXCEPT the State of Hawaii Certificate of Hawaiian Birth. I forget the deal with that registry, but I believe the people listed in there have to “renew” their inclusion. It’s been a couple of years since I looked into that stuff. Butter may know more on that particular subject.
