To: Fred Nerks

I know many Filipinos and those types of names are still very commonly used. As well as “regular” English names like “George”. I’ve also seen names like Deli, Desi, Nannette, Edna, Kareen, etc. Haven’t run into a “Mae” but that’s merely anecdotal. When I lived in HI I knew many Filipinos too, and I remember Jaime being a popular name, as well as Spanish derived and funny Filipino ones (funny to me).

I’m no genealogist, but when a thing is right, it looks right, the marriage index for 1960-1965 shows Douglas Liberato Obado married Priscilla Joan Domondon, and when I see the name Douglas Liberato Obado on the birth index, I couldn’t be far wrong in assuming they had a child and named it after the father...

...the way they printed out that birth as a duplicate for OBADO MAE just isn’t kosher. And until someone can introduce me to Mae Obado and/or show me who her parents were, I’m going to remain suspicious.
