Because they have been listening to the people since 9/11 they know the proportion of us who are against the way this country has been run. This administration got the numbers when they got into office and have been preparing since.

“Offending Muslims” is a pretty moot point. They have made a PROFESSION of being offended, creating confrontational situations wherever they may go, and by finding discriminatory practices where none existed before, following up with whining about “how badly” they have been treated.
The US armed forces managed to operate quite well for decades, CENTURIES, with no participation by Muslims other than as adversaries. Where do you think the line in the Marine Corps Hymn, “...to the shores of Tripoli” came from?
This problem with the truculence of Islamic combatants is not a new development, by any means. Even such an icon as Bobby Kennedy was struck down by an agent of the Palestinian Authority, Sirhan Sirhan, and nobody wanted to call it what it was at the time, an Islamic jihadist sent to do a probe of the intentions of the US government. Conclusion: nothing much will happen to Muslims for this kind of behavior.
Offending Muslims is a little bit like bear-baiting, against a particularly dim-witted but ferocious bear.
We should strive not to be similarly dim-witted.

Question: Why arent they afraid of offending Christians anymore?
Answer: Primary reason: because Christians don’t strap bombs to themselves and blow ou up, wire your cars to explode, or kill you if you dont submit to Isam. Secondary reason: their Saudi cousins have the oil and donate large sums to politicians for preferred treatment and special favors.

It won’t be long before each military unit is assigned a “Political Officer” to keep watch for things like religious expression by non-Muslims and heterosexual resistance to obnoxious gays.
