The Constitution. The Bill of Rights. The Declaration of Independence. To some these are little more than historical documents, but to conservatives these are the law of the land. It is clear as one reads them, the foundation of our country was built with limited government and the free market in mind.
However, Washington is out of touch. Special interests throw money at career politicians. These same politicians fail to lead and simply react to the latest controversy to gain a spot on Sunday morning talk shows.
With congressional approval at an all time low, its easy to understand why some would prefer to appear on television sets rather than face their constituents back at home.
President Reagan once said Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction, that we must fight for it, protect it and hand it down to future generations.
Yesterday South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham endorsed President Obamas intrusive arm of big brother regarding the collection of data and phone records:
Im a Verizon customer. I dont mind Verizon turning over records to the government if the government is going to make sure that they try to match up a known terrorist phone with somebody in the United States. I dont think youre talking to the terrorists. I know youre not. I know Im not. So we dont have anything to worry about.
Senator Graham went on to challenge Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky. In his attack, Graham leads us to believe that In Senator Pauls world those who value the constitution would leave America in a weakened position against its enemies. However, true conservatives believe that we can follow the constitution and defend our country against the enemy without sacrificing our freedom.
One week Senator Graham wants to debate the rights granted in the Second Amendment and another he questions the First Amendment rights of American citizens. And yesterday he tells us its ok for the government to search our phone records even if we are law abiding citizens.
Most would agree with Senator Graham that radical Islam is the foremost threat to our nations security. However, if we are truly protecting Americans from this grave threat, then how does it make sense to supply arms and aid to countries who support radical Islam, bring harm to our allies, burn our flag, hate our culture and allow terrorists to plot against the United States and her friends?
In Senator Grahams world, arming al-Qaeda in Syria is a good idea.
In Senator Grahams world, your rights as an American citizen are granted by the ruling political class and not by our Creator.
In Senator Grahams world, government should always be trusted but never the American citizen.
In Senator Grahams world, the Constitution doesnt exist.
In Senator Grahams world, the entire Bill of Rights is negotiable.
In Senator Grahams world, our constitutional rights seem constantly up for debate.
In Senator Grahams world, he says were fighting for freedom but is the first to surrender all of them.
In Senator Grahams world, America is going broke, and taxing hard working Americans while spending more money the country simply does not have.
In Senator Grahams world, I am concerned about the future of our country.
Maybe Senator Graham has been living in a world of his own for too long.

Nancy Mace is the first woman to graduate from The Citadel, the military college of South Carolina. She is the author of In the Company of Men published by Simon and Schuster. She is a small business owner of a public relations and marketing firm, The Mace Group, based in Charleston, South Carolina.
Graham, despite his warchest, can be toppled. But it needs somebody who desires to do it.
FULG!! We already know Obama has the dirt on you.
The flaccid face of fascism.
My opinion of Lindsay Graham fell to an all-time low yesterday when I heard him say this. Graham is like a cryogenic scientist, always trying to get close to absolute zero. Unlike the scientist, I think Graham has made it, on my scale.
I think, like McCain, he knows he’s absolutely protected and can have his job as long as he wants and just loves sticking it to conservatives.
If he ends up being the nominee, every conservative in South Carolina should withhold their vote from him. Other than a primary, that’s the only way to defeat these people. Because in their arrogance, they say “hey, who you gonna vote for. The democrat? I’ve got you trapped so you have to vote for me. ‘cause we’re not gonna allow any other choice for you.”
BTW, I bet you can't wait for your "namesake", Tom Cotton, to announce that he's running for the Senate from Arkansas..he'll win going away..
I,d submit that Linda IS a terrorist.
Don't forget to include the faker Rubio's current push for more amnesty...again, Romney's pre-obama care tyranny template and the Bush era spending sprees, the TSA and FISA.
This is who the Republicans are and why they are NOT going to win popularity contests unless there are major changes. (none of which has anything to do with targeted Latino outreach)
None of it matters anyway until we, the people, regain control of our elections. We lost the country when Reagan left office and Bush the elder got to work undoing the Reagan Revolution.

I voted against Flimsey Tinkerbelle in 2008 by casting my ballot for a likable good ol’ boy Democrat named Buddy Witherspoon. If someone with that name can’t win in South Carolina, then someone else is in league with the Old Nick.
They lifted my house off its foundation in the night & moved it into the 6th District of James Clyburn.
Right now our only hope in the Palmetto State is Rep. Trey Gowdy. I sure hope he runs for the Senate so I can vote for him.

If I was still in SC, I’d vote for Nancy! Nothing said about Ms. Lyndsey Graham has nailed “it” like this did for me.
