My parents used to own a home in Ocean Grove. The Grove is a Methodist enclave and is policed and receives municipal services from the town of Neptune. Neptunes a little higher class dump than Asbury Park next door. Folks in the Grove do more community outreach for the black kids in the area than Asbury Park and Neptune does. This is the thanks they get.

Liberals are all for diversity, except for when one steps outside of their lock-step ideological conformity. They don’t like the idea of a religious organization owning the town, and the cronies at FEMA (the croniest of all Federal agencies) will make sure that not one thin dime goes to Ocean Grove.

Ocean Grove will rebuild, but they will do it on their own. In the long run, they will be better off for it.

“In his speech a few minutes ago, our President said You look out over the horizon, you can count on the fact that you won’t be alone. The President did not look 5 blocks to the south.

There, just past the Casino, lies Ocean Grove, with a still shattered boardwalk.”

5 blocks to the SOUTH? Ocean Grove is NORTH of Atlantic City (the Casino?) I have read the President’s speech was given was Point Pleasant, which IS about 10 miles from Ocean City and is SOUTH of it. Atlantic City (Casino) is about 40 miles South of Ocean City.

“Almost every municipality in New Jersey received assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Association to repair their boardwalks, but in February the agency denied the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association funds, saying private non-profit groups did not qualify for public repair assistance.”

State Senator Jennifer Beck said FEMA would help fund the boardwalk repair if the appeal can convince them the structure serves a critical emergency purpose.

“Their determination is made based on whether or not you serve a critical emergency purpose,” she said.

I hope they get their money, from FEMA or Christie, either way.
