Ho-hum. 0bama telegraphed his blow by inviting the usual sycophants in for a little meeting on Tuesday. This is the party line, nothing more. It is interesting that they expect Lerner to take one for the team quietly, given that the woman is still in a position of considerable power at the IRS. By "go" they mean a quiet resignation with full retirement and a lot of noise from Klein and his little buddies that Justice Was Served And Now Can't We Move On?

That might have worked last week, but it's too little too late at the moment. I wouldn't have given a 25% chance then that Lerner would do jail time; now, after that ridiculous performance with the 5th Amendment I'd say it's closer to 50-50 and maybe even leaning a little toward the Grey Bar Hotel.

Even if she decides not to bend over and take it, there is still the matter of proof. Someone will go down for this if Klein and his little chorus line are all singing the company tune correctly. I mean down hard, Haldeman and Erlichman and Mitchell hard. If she doesn't have it on paper, I hope Lerner likes her jumpsuit.
