Vanity - Follow-up to Google Chrome thread I posted yesterday - Possible solution to problem

Posted on 05/17/2013 3:01:33 PM PDT by rickmichaels

Greetings and felicitations to all.

Yesterday I posted a thread asking for help with Google Chrome. Certain web pages were freezing up entirely and many of my fellow Freepers said they had similar problems with Chrome and offered good suggestions - but none worked for me.

Thank you to all for those suggestions nevertheless.

I think I figured it out and maybe this solution will work for you if you're having the same problem.

I deleted Chrome entirely and then reloaded it. I would normally change the font to Arial from the default Times New Roman font, but this time I didn't change the font and left it as Times New Roman. Chrome hasn't frozen yet. Maybe this is the solution. I'm not a technophile so I don't know how fonts have anything to do with stability, but it seemed to work for me.

Just thought I'd share this with anyone who's been having similar problems with Chrome.

Thanks to everyone again for your help.

Rick.

How do you know that it wasn’t just the reload that did the trick? You will never know unless you load the dreaded Ariel font to see what happens.

I don’t have Chrome and use Times New Roman but have been pages freeze for the past several months.

The OP deleted & reinstalled Chrome to solve his problem.

I’m with you, remove the second step and you have a simpler & better solution.
