Of course the IRS people thought they were doing what Obama wanted. They probably thought they would be rewarded for targeting conservatives and especially the Tea Party. Whether he directed the action himself or not isn't especially relevant - Obama made it very clear he did not view the Tea Party as a legitimate political group.

Well, that is your model. Mine is that he is a slightly retarded young gentleman, with an ability to read from a teleprompter with a semi-pleasant voice tone. And with an overly inflated ego. As such, he's fairly easily manipulated by his handlers who stroke his ego and give him material to read, while he focuses on the more important issues of his golf game and the ESPN schedule. Basically a more annoying version of Chauncey Gardner...
