I think the biggest shock is going to be the traffic and how the freeways actually are just parking lots during rush hour. Literally. It would do her good to get familiar with the freeway names and numbers because that’s pretty much how things are described and oriented.

The Orange County Swap Meet is pretty awesome every weekend! Take the kids, pay the entry fee,,not sure what it is now,,$5 or so,,kids free,,and walk around 100s of vendors selling just about everything, including some wonderful food! It’s nice to just be out in the fresh air!

Oh, and there’s that little thing called The Pacific Ocean.

Stay out of Santa Ana,,full of gangs and very rough. There are some parts of Santa Ana that are nice, like by South Coast Plaza, but, that’s about it.

World class children’s hospital in Orange. Had my first two children at St Joseph’s in Orange and the Children’s Hospital of Orange County is right there, connected by a walkway.

Lots of music venues, music in the park activities, moderate climate. Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach are right next door, both decent areas.

Good luck to your family!

One thing that stands out to me when I moved to Southern California is that accepted practice of automobile trips in and around the area is always referred to in time rather than distance.
