Understand that this is not a question of morals and individual sovereignty.
This is a question of morals vs. control.
A test of the moral fiber of Americans vs. their willingness to be told what to do.
Condition the populace that bad people will do bad things and it’s the “right and responsibility of the Gov’t” to protect you.
Like the drug company that has the cure but needs to create the disease.
I only suggest this because they can and it leverages the natural reactions of existing entities.
It would be really easy for them to use terrorist attacks that they allowed or expected, to provide the conditions needed to lock down the entire nation.

It would be very easy to shut down the whole nation. Only two (2) bad guys in Boston basically paralyzed that whole area.
