You’re thinking of a canning pressure cooker, to can several quart jars at the same time. I think the smallest pressure cooker you can get is five or six quarts.

I have a 4 quart mirro-matic old style and an 8 quart mirro-matic old style (very heavy)

I would also wager that the handle was removed from the 6 quart pressure cooker to make it easier to tote around.

I thought it may be a Presto.
