OHA , the Office of Hawaii affairs that is joining with all the longtime anti-military activists here on the Big Island , to directly attack the use of PTA by our Armed Forces and to try and steer the combined elements of protest and dissent to get PTA’s leases overturned and the Base closed

Oh thank you. My son did a lot of work at Schofield as a UXO Tech... when I visited him, it seemed like there was a large military presence on the island and a lot of bumper stickers supporting military.

Perhaps the Military could shut down the areas for a few months and allow their personnel to spend their military PAY in other areas to show the real economic impact of this stupid idea.

I remember when ROSWELL NM took a hit after WALKER AFB permanently closed down in 1967. It was years before Roswell recovered.

Roswell took a hit when the 509th Bomb Wing moved from there to Pease AFB, NH, in 1958. Many years later, some 509’ers still owned homes in Roswell that they couldn’t rent or sell.
