I am done being a “Prepper”. It seems silly to make such formal “10 Commandments” when there are so many types of people involved. I will follow God's 10 commandments but really...

Today, I watered some seedlings, praised my new sourdough starter for bubbling nicely (knock on wood), mended a pair of old jeans, replenished the pantry and freezer, read some how-to’s, and hubby shot a varmint. Just a normal day.

I have worked in my garden today to try and grow food and I have never, ever, done this. Learning to do this fits all the numbered above. Johnny is helping me by Freepmail so maybe I won't kill all the plants if they come up from the seed.

I did buy some little tomato plants earlier and so far haven't killed the 9 tomato plants that are growing and have little bitty tomatoes on the two cherry ones.

I'm doing my usual way to learn a new skill and that means reading and learning about plants and how to best grow them.

If this were a strictly indoor activity, I'd already have it mastered. Being in the heat just isn't my thing, but I'm determined to know how to do this.

I did buy a small greenhouse to have that for seeds next spring. I'm using it now to try and grow tobacco from seed. I killed the first batch I started.

You have plenty of seeds to try, try again. If only you have a microscope to see them. They are itty bitty seeds. ;)

I call those seeds “orange powder”. I have no idea how many are in this second batch.

Only 2 orders of magnitude with seeds that size: None and Lots.

You learn to cope. Practice makes one throw stuff and turn the air blue with invective and eventually.... makes perfect.
