Adam Lanza would have still used his mother’s Bushmaster AR-15 rifle and two handguns to kill. In Columbine, the Intratec TEC-DC9 assault pistol, Hi-Point 9mm Carbine, Savage 67H pump-action shotgun, and a Savage 311-D 12-gauge shotgun all could have been purchased even with the “assault weapons” ban.
All this effort to limit our 2nd Amendment rights for law abiding Americans is nothing but the polishing of the “Do Something About It” button. Such laws as passed in Connecticut, have no basis in reality. It is also a way to attack Republicans who are more inclined to support 2nd Amendment rights. And, such laws make law abiding Americans felons when criminals won’t care about magazine capacity limits and can get straw buyers to buy any weapon they want.
