His hatred of communists wasn't due to their being communist, as much as their having allegiance to the USSR. Hitler didn't dislike socialism, he just wanted to be in charge and was against competitors for leadership.
The only problem with that theory is that, as the quote from Mein Kampf (see post 18) indicates, Hitler detested Marxists and Marxism several years before the communist revolution in Russia. He detested Marxism when Russia was still being run by the tsars.
Maybe if you'd been there at the time, you could have straightened Hitler out about the real reasons he hated communists and Jews. Or, maybe you could have talked him into loving both communists and Jews. But, I'm told that he was often kind of hard to reason with about some of this stuff. ;-)
He wanted Russia for Lebensraum. If they were still ruled by the Czars, he would have railed against the Czar just as fervently as he railed against the Bolsheviks.
