We watch Pawn Stars and enjoy seeing the interesting items that people bring in and hearing about them. I could do with less bickering and family interaction.

If you think Pawn Stars is bad for bickering, try Hard Core Pawn in Detroit. Those people are nuts

All reality shows are scripted and not shot randomly or candidly. There is always some sort of friction or conflict among the characters or these shows would be like watching paint dry....boring! People think that a camera crew just shoots the daily lives or happenings of the stars of the shows and the results are shown on the air, but that is not how it works. There is a lot of hard work to make them interesting and the people who star in them work long, hard hours to make what they do into an interesting show. Scenes are staged, scripted and altered to bring drama and energy to the program. The subject matter of the reality shows are part of the hook, but most of it is the characters and their interactions and relationships. But the bottom line is that reality shows are not real. They are produced just like any other TV program.
