Attached to a state filing in the case against George Zimmerman on Thursday was a newly public piece of evidence from the young woman who says she was on the phone with Trayvon Martin just before his death.

Prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda's new pleading included as an exhibit a letter, apparently written by the young woman dubbed "Witness 8," to 17-year-old Trayvon's parents less than a month after he was shot Feb. 26, 2012.

So when does the accused get to cross examine this supposed witness as per his legal right?

O’Mara scheduled a deposition for this past March 13th. When he showed up, the prosecutor objected to the deposition being videotaped. The prosecutor had and has no legal basis for this objection, and the deposition was delayed for five hours while O’Mara tried (unsuccessfully, I think) to get the judge to settle the dispute. End result was he took a partial deposition, no video. More to come. Witness 8 isn’t out of the deposition pressure cooker yet.

New letter huh? Ummm the defense has already impeached this witness's truthfulness.

Witness in Trayvon Martin Case Lied. Will It Even Go To Trial?

Lies, lies and more lies! Civil rights shakedown in progress. Black on White hate crimes were responsible for over 10,000 rapes, murders and vicious beatings last year based upon the paleness of our skin.

If there were true justice, then a certain set of prosecutors should be receiving their own set of warrants for arrest shortly.

This dribbling out information in and of itself should be grounds for prosecutorial misconduct.

Was the letter written by DeeDee #1 or DeeDee #2?

This letter is BS. If this letter really existed a year ago they would have submitted it before

Oh, you can’t interview this witness or Crump. That might mean Zimmerman might get acquitted, or have the case dismissed. Angela Corey and the Judge can’t have that. Zimmerman must be railroaded for all the past sins of white folks(even though Zimmerman is Hispanic).

How many phones did Trayvon have?

Maybe he should have just hosted a radio show and saved the cell minutes.

Whether she was on the phone with him should be discoverable and there should be evidence one way or the other.

I think the judge is determined to see Zimmerman convicted and will do whatever it takes even if it means ignoring Zimmerman’s rights under the Bill of Rights. This letter should have been handed over long ago. The date is a couple of weeks after Trayvon’s death and could have been dictated by Crump for all we know. It seems to be part of the prosecution and the judge’s strategy to keep O’Mara from being able to get at Crump. The whole case for the second-degree murder charge rests on DeeDee’s “testimony” which may be 100% a fabrication by Crump.

What another biased judge in the Zimmerman case? Something smells in the state of Florida. Maybe everyone who sits on the bench in the state should get a chance to preside over the Zimmermann trial. Heh.

"Second judge removed from Trayvon Martin murder trial"

"After accused murderer George Zimmerman accuses his judge of being “biased", Florida Courts rule Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. should step down from presiding over Trayvon Martin murder trial.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - On Wednesday, the Florida District Court of Appeals granted accused murderer George Zimmerman's request to remove Seminole County Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. from the Trayvon Martin murder case. In July George Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, submitted a petition after he feared Zimmerman would not receive a fair trial by Judge Lester. Zimmerman has been in custody of Seminole County officials since February when the neighborhood watch volunteer reported suspicious activity from 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Claiming self-defense, Zimmerman shot the teenager, only to find out Martin was unarmed. Zimmerman pleaded not guilty to the second degree murder charges brought against him.

ABC news reports O'Mara motioned to disqualify the judge after Lester revoked Zimmerman's previous bond of $150,000 and set it at $1 million. Lester's reasoning for the high bail was suspicion Zimmerman and his wife were trying to flee the country. O'Mara believed Lester was “biased” against Zimmerman due to frequent inappropriate remarks made to demean Zimmerman's character. Lester backfired his opinion, stating Zimmerman “flaunted the system”. In defense of Zimmerman's petition, attorneys cited from MacKenzie v. Super Kids Bargain Store (1900), “A motion is legally sufficient if it alleges facts that would create in a reasonably prudent person a well-founded fear of not receiving a fair and impartial trial."

Appellate judges from the Fifth District Court ruled two-to-one in favor that Judge Lester would not be able to grant Zimmerman a fair and impartial trial. Official court documents show Judge Kerry Evander's disagreement with the verdict, “Although the trial court’s order clearly manifested an exceedingly strong belief by the trial judge that Zimmerman had “flouted” and “tried to manipulate” the system, I do not believe the order “crossed the line” so as to require the granting of his motion.”

Lester is not the first judge to “remove themselves” from the Florida v. Zimmerman trial. In April, Jessica Recksiedler was the first judge appointed to the case but dismissed herself after Zimmerman requested Recksiedler's husband to represent him as a defense attorney. The Orlando Sentinel announces the third, and hopefully final, judge appointed to the Zimmerman trial to be Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson. The successful 58-year-old is known to be fair although she can "hand down tough sentences." "

Whenever I see the name “Zimmermann” I think only of injustice and the state of FL, where injustice is legion.

How is a letter (purportedly) written a month after the event considered evidence of anything?

Why would the prosecution object to the deposition being videotaped? Are you sure it wasn’t the defense or her lawyer?
