The GOP nominee will go down to defeat against Hillary, Cuomo, Michelle Obama, or even Barack running for a third term. If Rove or Jeb get the nomination they are winning the chance to be the sacrifice and earn a footnote in the history books. They won’t be running to win.
The establishment will not allow a conservative to get the nomination. Whoever the establishment runs will lose. Given the choice between hard core socialism with unlimited sexual freedom and statist socialism lite with the fear of limits on abortion the people will choose to go all of the way. Demographics rule.
