Everyone (for good reason) is crowing over how Sen. Ted Cruz completely creamed Marxist CA Senator Dianne Feinstein. If you haven't seen it, go here here
However, this is classic Democrat Party bait-and-switch.
If you're old enough to remember FReeping in the Clinton years like I have, you'd remember that the Clinton Democrats will put out a bill so extreme as to generate an uproar, then withdraw the bill and admit that they overreach and introduce "more modest" legislation.
Well, the more "modest" gun legislation is none other than Chucky Schumer's Universal Background Checksbill. Sounds reasonable, right? Everybody supports universal backgrounds, right? RIGHT?
Schumer's bill makes virtually all gun owners a felon and sets up registration (and later confiscation).

And, I’ve been around long enough to remember the bait-and-switch of the reign of His Slickness.

I can't actually disagree, andyk; conversely, I suspect it's more likely she plays dumber than she is: probably knows the Constitution well enough, but simply hates the very thought of commoners having rights and government being constrained. I have a hunch she regards it as a challenge.
I'm very sure of this: a generation or two hence, people are going to wonder how we could have been so blind as to elect obvious America haters.

I could never understand how the Holocaust & lead-up to it could occur. I read the words, but could not fathom how it could happen. Now I can. And that's what I tell younger folks, to put things into perspective for them.

These are the enemies of our country who are stealing our liberty....liberty that hundreds of thousands of good men died to preserve. Are we the generation of lazy, tongue tied quitters that let such inferiors as Obama, Schumer, and Feinstein take those freedoms from us and our children? For shame.
