Iranian military aircraft targeted a U.S. Predator drone over the Persian Gulf this week, administration officials said. It was the latest in Iranian efforts to thwart the U.S. military's airborne intelligence collections efforts in the region.
Three administration officials have separately confirmed details of the incident, although the Pentagon has not publicly acknowledged it.

Consider the space vs. the size of a drone, even if you know it is there, it would be hard to spot (I imagine).
Sending manned Iranian aircrafts to shadow a drone? Is that the newest Iranian stealth aircraft? (snicker)
was it in iranian airspace or approaching iranian airspace? i have no problem with the iranians defending their airspace. we do it with russian BEARs. if it was in their airspace they should try to shoot it down.

In fact drones aren’t that good to counter live pilots yet. There are at least a couple of viral YouTube videos filming encounters between drones and fighter jets via drones’ own cameras. Including one where drone fought back desperately. Men were winning all the time. Not to mention one hijacked by Iranians.
