The Constitution requires that a Senator be 30 years old, a U.S. citizen for 9 years, and “when elected...an inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.” So residence on election day is enough. More than that is up to the voters.

The bar for residency to be on the ballot is higher in Kentucky, but if she moves May 2013 a year before the primary should be long enough.
