I also remember when I was a kid in the 1970’s, CBS always ran “In The News” on Saturdays and when it came time to change the clocks forward or back, they always ran the segment explaining what it is and so on. I remember during the 1973 oil embargo, we went DST all year round and a lot of parents complained that we were walking to school/bus stop in the dark. I was in first grade then and we all took flashlights and it was kind of fun playing “German Spotlight” while waiting for the bus. B-)
Stupid idea. I hate it and don’t understand the reason. Why don’t we just move the clock 1/2 hour and then don’t change it the whole year.
Just tell my dogs that they have to wait for their breakfast because it is fall!! And it takes me 2-3 days to syncronize all my clocks to the new time. I have some that change to the old schedule and I have to change 4 times a year.
And again I have to take pills for 2 weeks to get my body to adjust to the new wake up time.
Nixon’s fault. The moonbats derided the hell out of him for that. I think 50,000 or so kids were run over that winter by a school bus.
