The TLDR version is that Cruz has an American mother so he's obviously an American citizen, and people with similar birth situations (outside the US) such as McCain and George Romney would have been eligible if they had won. So far no one has challenged a presidential candidate born outside of the United States. I think Ted Cruz is probably eligible and based on what I've seen so far, I hope at some point he runs and wins.

Why don't you just come clean and admit you don't care to have any requirements at all? If the shadow of an American fell on them at some time in their life, that is all that is necessary for you to regard them as qualified.

You bring absolutely nothing of any value to this conversation.

This thread is a perfect example of why conservatism hasn’t progressed in the hundred years except for part of Reagan’s term.

Our country is burning and ‘conservatives’ are arguing about irrelevant minutia.

Ted Cruz is more of an American then 90% of the people already in Congress or the Executive Branch. We’re lucky to have him as a Senator and would be even more fortunate to have him as President.
