Now we are finally getting somewhere. Just like Obama is ineligible technically because his fathers British Nationality 'governed' his birth status in 1961, Ted Cruz is ineligible too. Fox News has confirmed it and rightly so. Sean Hannity made a huge blunder the other day and declared Ted Cruz a natural born citizen because he was born to a American mother in Canada. He was so wrong. Cruz is a 14th Amendment U.S. 'statutory' (not natural born) citizen which is something completely different than a Article 2 Section 1 Constitutional natural born Citizen which is explicitly designed only for the presidency by the framers.
Bitter amusement. Because they are so freaking tiresome.
So. Let me get this straight.
I refuse to PISS ON THE CONSTITUTION just to attractively oppose a Constitutionally qualified candidate (Barack Obama) and you accuse me of being an "Obot."
Then, when it becomes obvious that a correct interpretation of the Constitution favors conservatives, you accuse me of "pissing on the Constitution," and brag that you refuse to do so.
Wow. That's twisted.
They’ve been crawling on FR since 2008 right around the election, and some have signed on after that.
FMD is not the father. The Gilbertson mockumentary is full of 100% lies.
You fool no one.
As Jeff and Rogers have already detailed in this thread, there is no contextual or case law support for this definition.
No legal scholar supports your position. Don’t you find it strange?
Exactly. I don’t care if the most perfect constitutionalist candidate in existence was running but was not a NBC. He still should not be a candidate.
I suspect Jeff is ducking out because you jump in after 900 or so posts, and ignore the previous 900 and the work that went into them, and want to just call people names. Frankly, you haven’t EARNED a reply. Someone who comes in after several days of debate and starts calling everyone who disagrees with him a ‘poo-poo head’ doesn’t get much respect.
And calling people poo-poo heads is pretty much all you birthers have. Unfortunately, that doesn’t get you far in court. What remains inescapable is that you have convinced 0 of 50 states, 0 of 535 members of Congress, and 0 courts.
You have failed to convince states like Arizona, where I live and where the Republican gov has no love for Obama. You haven’t convinced Utah, or Oklahoma. You cannot convince Idaho. No matter how conservative the state, not ONE has joined your side.
There isn’t a single District Attorney, anywhere in the USA, who thinks you have a case. No member of Congress. You are stuck with Orly Taitz - arguably the worst lawyer in America - making money off of your stupidity. And it takes a breathtakingly stupid person to get snookered by Orly Taitz! After all, when a lawyer gets her rump handed to her by a few dozen courts, even a really STUPID lawyer would know she doesn’t have a case. Yet y’all donate money to her and support her in one failed case after another.
I’ve got classes to work on tomorrow. I’m tired of retired life, and trying to re-enter the job market in a crappy economy. One of my assignments for tomorrow is to summarize the results of 5 court cases for review by a practicing lawyer. And yes, that includes discussing what each case HELD.
So I’m off this thread for tonight, and probably will spend much of tomorrow reading cases. I’m not going to want to pollute my mind with birther nonsense.
Well why was Article 2 Section 1, the clause that only called for a natural born Citizen to be president, left separate from the 14th Amendment?
Looks like my this has caught more than Freeper members attention to this matter about Cruz.
He'd come up behind you and from outta nowhere, grab you by the scruff of the back of the neck in a modified amped up Vulcan pinch. Really got your attention and made you see things his way.
No doubt they'd lock him up for that now, but he didn't hurt anyone and definitely had our respect. I think I prefer it his way.
Ha. Haha. Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh.
Heh heh heh.
No, really.
Did you see his hogan’s sign up date?
It’s really amazing watching the evolution of this thread. Jeff and Mr. Rogers provide clear and convincing evidence refuting the birhters.
The birthers respond by citing an obscure case involving an Italian from the 1970s. The birthers then claim that everyone who disagrees with them is a traitor and Obama sycophant.
The birthers then claim victory, when Jeff and Mr. Rogers refuse to continue this nonsensical debate.
All and all, I think the birthers have an excellent philosophy. Alienate conservatives in order to push your ridiculous agenda.
I will confess that most of this thread has been dedicated to just kicking the crap out of a bunch of bogus birther claims that have been made.
For example, see the earlier complete destruction of 5 claims in a row made by DiogenesLamp (post 695).
5 in a row? That should be enough to convince honest observers that the birthers are likely full of BS.
The facts regarding US v Wong Kim Ark have been presented. The discussion in that case was the rationale for the decision, and it is binding precedent. Earlier, I explained why. So it's been made perfectly clear that from 1898, the rule has always been other than the birthers claim. And it's also clear that the Court said that had ALWAYS been the rule, from the earliest times in America and even before, in England.
I have also explained, in the graphic, how natural law fits in with the phrase "natural born citizen." I'm surprised no one has commented on that. I will reproduce the graphic before I'm done here very shortly, so you can look at it.
But one of the things we haven't gotten around to showing is how well founded the decision in that case really is - and YES, the Court absolutely DID find Wong Kim Ark to be a natural born citizen. And I explained that above.
I'm working on a final post that should actually give you some idea of the early authority behind the traditional interpretation of "natural born citizen." That will show what people in early America actually thought, which completely destroys the two citizen parent claim.
And no, I will NOT be leaving out any quotes at all that say two citizen parents are required. They simply don't exist.
Ah yes, the n00b pops in with some alinskyesque ridficule, to support the further obfuscation of little barry bastard boy’s illegitimacy to sit the White Hut. It has become predictable here!
Is that relevant? When drudge was running the “sex scandal” headline before the election, I used google to see if any other site was discussing the rumor before drudge released information.
I found Free Republic.
I was unaware that Free Republic discouraged new membership.
Alinsky tactics? Birthers sound like lunatics. They detract from the legitimate criticisms of Barack Obama. You are doing a disservice to all other Conservatives.
You provide the mainstream media, an enemy of the Republic, with easy ammunition to use against conservatives.
You don’t really care about the Republic or the Constitution. You care about your ridiculous birther agenda. And anyone who opposes your definition is immediately labeled a traitor or secret Obama sycophant.
Where do I stop once I start a list like that???
I'll give you folks this. You are smarter than we gave you credit for.
We underestimated you when we thought we'd beaten everyone and saved the world in WWII and most of the conflicts and cold wars since.
We are arrogant and our hubris was the opening you've used successfully against us.
You've just about won...the Constitution means almost nothing, the Bill of Rights are under assault from all quarters of the government that took an oath not to do that...the border is wide open, our elections are out of our control...yep, you guys beat us and never fired a shot. Sun Tzu smiles at your success.
From that point of view, what should I find strange?
Thank you for the nice comments, Hawk. I certainly appreciate them.
I’m wrapping this up. I would like to stay and continue, but I have other obligations and other things to do with my time.
Stay tuned for a final post from me.
