It’s a little more serious for the people facing a 20% pay cut which we did nothing to cause. The workload stays the same and will get done in four days instead of five because we’re professional.
But I agree that the overall impact to the country is trivial, if you can live with real decreased readiness for combat. Next time you call international 911 don’t be surprised if we’re already busy elsewhere and it will yake a while to respond.
