Well, for prepping I found $13 / 20 lbs. at Publix, and that’s the best deal for white rice I’ve found at any store (probably because of the high amounts of Haitian and Jamaican customers at their Florida stores that demand it). But $1 / kilo, that’s like $8 for 20 lbs!

Keep in mind, I pass rice fields as I travel up to Cebu city.
Rice is the number one staple of the Philippine diet.
It comes to the market shops in 100 lb sacks via large flat bed trucks with hundreds of sacks.
Rice is standard for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It is sad that it does not have more nutritional value.
