The homosexual agenda (including queer marriage) provides a natural philosophical base from which to bring plural wives out of the closet. I think that’s the goal here.

What's not usually stated in commentaries upon this comment from an Lds "apostle" is that Mormons...in our generation...deem polygamy as "holy." (Note, there was no hue & cry to remove this comment from reprints after its 1966 printing...see Church-Owned Deseret Book Stops Publishing McConkie’s “Mormon Doctrine”, Claiming “Low Sales”...the Mormon church didn't put it by the wayside until 2010...and even then, didn't "diss" anything in the book all these years!)
