I think the mistake the author makes is that the “resisting” will come when they are marching down the street with in full body armor and swat vehicles. I agree that moment resisting is probably suicide, the best thing to do at the moment is...disappear (along with your guns). Look at Iraq and Afghanistan for what the “resistance” will look like, the insurgents for the most part didn't conduct full scale attacks on well armored platoons. They struck when a few soldiers were driving back to base in a poorly armored Humvee. The resistance will take the same form here, people will figure out were any law enforcement that participates in these raids live and will “strike” when they are lying in bed thinking they are perfectly safe in their disarmed police state. Or perhaps when a bunch of them are off duty, yucking it up at a local bar. You get the idea. It's called asymmetrical warfare, it's nasty and not particularly honorable but against a much better armed opponent sometimes its the only choice.
