I would be a millionaire if I had a nickel every time I found a self-identified Christian on FR who......

-advocated violence and vigilante tactics
-criticized “social gospel” Christians for advocating using the state to bring about Christian charity via the welfare state while simultaneously advocating using the state to bring about Christian morals by banning homosexual acts
-was happy bombs were dropped
-advocated unprovoked war
-did not follow Romans 12:18
-treated the US military as if it were inherently moral and put troops almost on par with Christ (no, I’m not exaggerating, I’ve seen this)
-used racial epithets (not legitimate criticisms of certain nationalities or ethnic groups, but actual racial epithets like “sand monkeys”)
-equated America with God’s kingdom and acted as if America and the Body of Christ were one and the same
-advocated rebellion against the legitimate US government (I’m not necessarily talking about advocating peaceful secession, but actual armed rebellion)
-advocated not paying taxes (I believe Jesus had something to say about that)
-responded to homosexuals and single mothers with hatred instead of compassion (where do we have license to hate on sinners, being sinners ourselves?)
-thought that government endorsements of religion were a good thing, despite history’s lesson that this harms religion

I’d be a billionaire if I had a nickel every time a self-identified “small government” advocate called for....

-more war
-more military spending, more domestic spying (less of this now that Dems control the WH)
-harsher policing and longer sentences for non-violent crimes
-an expansion of the failed war on drugs
-more power to cops (who are always right and never wrong or corrupt or abusive with their power) and less power for defendants (even though this often includes the innocent, not just the guilty, believe it or not)
-more corporal punishment in schools

I’d be a trillionaire if I had a nickel every time a “free market capitalist” on FR....

-called for higher tariffs
-called for import restrictions
-called for import bans
-thought that buying foreign goods “sent money overseas” and hurt the nation’s economy
-called me a traitor for advocating free trade
-said that we need higher military spending to help the economy, but that higher government spending is hurting the economy
-confused Keynesianism with socialism, socialism with communism, communism with Marxism, Democrats with Marxists, etc.,and yet we’re supposed to be the side that understands economics.

“confused Keynesianism with socialism, socialism with communism, communism with Marxism, Democrats with Marxists, etc.,”

If you know of a good site that explains the definitions, similarities, and differences between these, please post a link. Plus the terms Maoist, totalitarianism, fascism, etc. If we’re going to be forced to live under this crap until Revolutionary War II, we may as well be clear on what it is.
