A massive explosion rocked Irans Fordow nuclear facility last Monday, January 21, destroying huge parts of the installation and trapping as many as 240 personnel deep underground, according to a former Iranian intelligence official.
Some mystery surrounds the truth of the reports, which emerged through conservative website WorldNetDaily last week and were recently backed up by the Jerusalem Post, which quoted Israeli intelligence officials confirming the attack.
The blast occurred at 11:30 a.m. on Monday morning and shook buildings within a radius of three miles. Fordows nuclear plant is buried some 300 feet beneath a mountain, and is immune to airstrikes and most bunker-busting bombs. According to Hamidreza Zakeri, formerly of Irans Ministry of Intelligence and National Security, two elevators were disabled and the emergency stairwells were inaccessible. One elevator descended 240 feet to chambers containing centrifuges; another went even lower to move heavy equipment and cycle uranium hexafluoride.
An explosion occurred in the third centrifuge chambers, directly above the high-grade uranium reserves, Zakeri said. Regime officials believe an explosive device was smuggled into the facility disguised as equipment or uranium.
Israel believes the Iranians have not evacuated the surrounding area. It is unclear whether that is because no harmful substances have been released, or because Tehran is trying to avoid sparking panic among residents, an Israeli source told the Times of London.
According to WND correspondent Reza Kahili, the previously secret plant contains some 2,700 centrifuges capable of enriching uranium to the 20% level. While Iran recently converted some of its high-grade uranium to reactor fuel, further enrichment takes just weeks; following recent failed talks with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iranian representatives refused to stop the enrichment process underway at Fordow and the larger 10,000 centrifuge complex at Natanz

May God protect and defend Isreal, the apple of His eye.
Awwwwwwwwwwwww. I really feel sorry for the wild animals in the area who were killed or injured by the blast.
RE: Has the event been verifed as actual, not just a titalating headline from the World Nut Daily?

No proof until the OMG reports its to the masses.
I remember when Israel blasted Syria’s North Korean supported Nuclear facility to kingdom come IN 2007.
There wasn’t a big deal made by the mainstream press then ( I don’t recall it making headlines here in the USA ).
Nothing at least compared to the headlines made when Israel hit in Iraq’s nuclear reactors when Saddam was still in power ( Reagan was president then ). THAT MADE HUGE HEADLINES WORLDWIDE.
So, how about this report?
It is now a should we believe Iran or Israel scenario.

Iran Denies Blast At Nuclear Plant, Israel Inisists It Happened, But Denies Invovlement
Iran spent their Monday morning vigorously denying claims of an explosion at the Fordow uranium enrichment site in the south of the country, near the city of Qom. The IRNA news agency on Sunday said that the West [sic] propaganda machine was claiming that An explosion deep within Irans Fordow nuclear facility has destroyed much of the installation and trapped about 240 personnel deep underground.
The deputy head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Seyyed Shamesddin Barbroudi, told the IRNA that there has been no explosion whatsoever in the Fordow nuclear facility.
“The false news of an explosion at Fordow is Western propaganda ahead of nuclear negotiations to influence their process and outcome,” he added.
The International Atomic Energy Association said that they cant confirm reports of the blast, and said that the only reports theyd seen were in the media.
The U.S. State Department said that the report of the explosion was not credible.
But Israeli intelligence is insisting it happened, and told the Times-UK that there are more than 200 workers still trapped in the facility.
Were still in the early stages of trying to comprehend what happened and the extent of its significance, the unnamed source said, and added that it was unclear if the act was sabotage or an accident.

Getting interesting,....I believe Israel.
fyi
There was NO deal made about the Sept 6 2007 destruction of that Syrian plant because not even W wanted it talked about.
Only people who even knew about it were Pete Hoekstra and some rat on the committee, because by law they had to get a phone call.
Not bashing W, just relating what happened.

If you've got Google Earth, have at it.
I always love reading statements like this one. Low-information low IQ types are who gravitate towards "journalism." The lower their level of knowledge about everything, the more qualified they feel to create the news.
The statement may be correct, but it ignores the fact that every entrance and exit, and every essential air vent, and power source or fuel source cannot be similarly protected.
You got that right.
I was walking along Champs Elysees in Paris the following day and the headline was at least 4 inches tall.
Wish I knew how many "points" that is...
Seems like seismographs would detect an event that shakes the ground for 3 miles... Aren’t there sites that show that sort of thing?
Isn’t this the identical article that was posted yesterday?
Multiple threads going.... many are quoting the ex-Iranian who reported on WND.
But now Isralel Intellugence is reporting esssentially the same info to the Times (UK).
The Israeli official is an anonymous source, so I am a skeptic on this story.
There has been no physical evidence - satelite photos, etc., no evacuation of the area.
Work accident.
Happens all the time when some dim bulb decides to pile up a bunch of the enriched uranium product.
I just hope they are more careful with the bio-weapons.
