Many seem to have stopped reading at the title. The point of the title was that there is no difference between saying, “guns don’t kill people” and “guns don’t make you safe”.
A gun is simply a tool, which can be used to magnify effort and intention. When the effort is evil, the evil can be made greater. When the effort is good, the goodness can be made greater. When you try to diminish evil done by a few with restricting access to guns from everybody, you also diminish the good done by the vast majority. Gun control diminishes good far more that it can ever diminish evil.
We are made safer by having guns in the hands of good people making good decisions. The more guns, the bigger and better the guns, the more good that can be done. It is the goodness that makes us safer, not the tool that is used.
Thank you for taking the time to read and understand.
Upon reading your #25 post, I went back to re-read your original post, I have misunderstood you.
My apologies, thanks for correcting me.
It used to be on Free Republic, that people could post thought provoking articles, and anyone who didn’t read it completely and knee-jerked over it, would get the wrath of all the FReepers who were bright, intelligent conservatives.
We have devolved. Too many are loudmouth egotists who don’t read well or won’t read beyond the title. We used to ban those types—now they ban people like you. I’m sorry you’re continuing to get slammed for this.
To all you slammers—you are acting JUST LIKE Leftist babies. All emotion, no comprehension. And what is worse and laughable, is when someone points out your mistake, you double down and keep right on making it. That is so very democratic party of you!
