What if a revolution is required....?
1/7/2013 | Self-vanity

Posted on 01/07/2013 9:41:13 AM PST by SERKIT

What if we had a President that ran on the concept of "fundamentally changing" America, away from its founding principles, away from its traditions, and away from the Constitution?

What if we had such corrupt politicians that freedoms were reduced, slowly but surely eroded, or repealed?

What if the corrupt politicians and the anti-American President continued to oppress the people and suppress freedom?

Wouldn't a revolution only predicted, but necessary? In order to stay free, and preserve the Constitution - where politicians fail to defend the Constitution - then the people will need to defend it - by maintaining an armed citizenry. Isn't this also part of the intent behind the Second Amendment?

Will the roots of the Liberty Tree soon, once again, require fertilization by the blood of tyrants and patriots, to paraphrase one of our founders?

You have the freedom to keep and bear arms, but you don't need to - you should have the freedom of choice.

Gear up! Patriotism required.

Or how about Directly from Di-Fi herself?

Feinstein says:

On the first day of the new Congress, I intend to introduce a bill stopping the sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing of assault weapons as well as large ammunition magazines, strips and drums that hold more than 10 rounds

How is that "outright confiscation"? If you want to really stretch, you could claim that it would lead to confiscation (again, how?), but that's not what you said. You said "outright." This is, in fact, the bill I was referring to which (mostly) reintroduces limits that existed before (and were repealed). I'm happy they were repealed, but notice that while they were in place, nobody went "hunting" for its sponsors. Instead, people voted for different representatives and those people repealed the stupid bill.

Apparently, you don't even read your own links.

So HR 138 doesn't include the word "confiscation" right in the title?

Also, Di-fi han't submitted the actual text of her bill yet.

But, according to you... There is nothing to worry about.

You know? that's a good point. Feinstein hasn't proposed a confiscation bill, I don't expect her to submit a confiscation bill and I know that if she did, it would die in a House vote, so no, there's nothing to worry about.

Since your "revolution" scenarios are predicated on events that aren't going to occur, then I'll stop worrying about that, too. I suggest that you roll all this into a screenplay or something.

Also, you were wrong about the original Brady bill being repealed via vote. It had an expiration clause. Bush even went so far as to state he'd sign it if a renewal bill hit his desk.

We thought Obamacare would never pass. Look how that turned out. The Congress we have now isn't the same beast we had almost ten year ago.

Turn your back on it, and it will bite you.

—If someone were abusing one of your children, you’d want them to stop immediately. If they said they were going to start abusing your spouse next on top of it... What would you do?—

Bad analogy. One is actually hurting someone, and one, only has potential.

I do agree that they already have gone to far with gun control. I’m not saying otherwise. I’m saying that the people saying they are going to revolt soon are not going to.

You obviously don’t know Dems and are falling for their little game they play. They get us all riled up with crazy rhetoric. Then they “compromise” to get the things they really want. And then it looks like we aren’t compromising.

And again, the issue of them doing gun control isn’t what I was asking you. I think they will try. I was asking of how that’s going to lead to bloodshed. You said confiscation. This EO thing does not state how much or what gun control they want to enact.

You have still yet to respond to me when you are starting your revolution? I am sure it’s “soon”. As it always is.

"When" depends on the FedGov. They pass their bans, it's game on at that point. If not, then not.

And yes, I mention this upthread.

I see you still haven't posted on that other thread to calm everyone down there with your wisdom. Don't be shy...

I believe I did post in the thread. Early on. Pointing out that a civil war would only start depending on the EO limitations.

And what bans will cause you to go out and start the revolution that will get you the support to not make it a Waco type thing.

Been here five years longer than you. Seen many times when we've stood on the cliff looking down and wondering when we'd have to jump.

Ball is in their court. We jump early and idiots like you will be all over us claiming we pulled a Fort Sumter and denigrating us along with your pals on the Left.

No thanks.

Maybe, but I still say that short of confiscation, there will be no rebellion.
