In the wake of the ludicrous 'fiscal cliff' deal made by Boehner and McConnell -packed with pork, increasing the deficit by $4 TRILLION, and raising taxes on most every American while extracting diddly-squat in spending cuts- the Republican Party doesn't represent my interests anymore, yet no GOPer has the huevos to mount a viable challenge to Boehner's feckless 'leadership'-
Ron Meyer, a spokesman for the conservative group American Majority Action, which was among several calling for Boehners ouster, acknowledged that House Republicans simply do not have a viable alternative to Boehner.
It turns out no one else seems willing to pick up the mantle, he said on Wednesday. 'I hesitate to say it, but this goes to some degree to cowardice.'
Yet yesterday's so-called 'fiscal cliff' deal included all this
pork for Obama supporters-
- $430 million for Hollywood through special expensing rules to encourage TV and film production in the United States. Producers can expense up to $15 million of costs for their projects.
- $331 million for railroads by allowing short-line and regional operators to claim a tax credit up to 50 percent of the cost to maintain tracks that they own or lease.
- $222 million for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands through returned excise taxes collected by the federal government on rum produced in the islands and imported to the mainland.
- $70 million for NASCAR by extending a 7-year cost recovery period for certain motorsports racing track facilities.
- $59 million for algae growers through tax credits to encourage production of cellulosic biofuel at up to $1.01 per gallon.
- $4 million for electric motorcycle makers by expanding an existing green-energy tax credit for buyers of plug-in vehicles to include electric motorbikes.
How much worse could the American right do in upcoming battles on debt, immigration, and Obammunist gun grabs?
PLENTY worse... but there's no need to take it on faith,
now you'll get to see for yourself.

I can see a GOP cave on immigration, on the grounds of the demographic argument that the leadership will make. So, I figure amnesty (or close to it) by June of this year.
Guns....I really don’t see that. They need to have some red meat to show the GOP base, so they won’t go for that.

from another thread:
My first act of 'business' in this New Year was to remove myself from the GOP voter rolls on Wednesday morning, changing my registration to Independent.
Not one thin dime will go to a GOP 'committee' at any level .. time/money contributions to individual candidates ONLY.
The spineless pukes want to ignore us ? Both sides can play that game !
If a FEW,000,000 of us did the same, there's just a chance - albeit a slim one - that it might make a last gasp difference.

'I hesitate to say it, but this goes to some degree to cowardice.' Being Speaker is a thankless task these days. Not only do you not get thanks...you also have hate thrown at you on a daily basis.
The Tea Party couldn't find someone willing and able to take the garbage that goes with the office regardless of the verbiage that they've put out lately.

Hope people keep reading your support for failure. And your post history. The faster you discredit yourself, the faster the rest of us can work to fix the mes your friends made.

OK, good argument
But caving on immigration would be a disaster, those won’t be our votes being legalized

My Congresscritter, Doug Collins, voted for that loser. No sooner does he get in office, he starts screwing up.

The attacks on Boehner are just over the top, knee jerk reactions that ignore the FACT that the RATS already had a tax increase on every working American it nothing was done. So he really had no leverage to work with. We’ll see what happens when the debt limit comes up in a couple months, when the situation is reversed.

Illinois blinked. The wave is started...only Obama could do gun control now. I hope Cuomo gets the message.

Of course they will cave.
At least we don't have to worry about telling them apart....

"Illinois blinked. The wave is started...only Obama could do gun control now. I hope Cuomo gets the message."Either that or they'll pull another "Reichstag Fire" event.
Either way I think it only delays things by months. CWII seems inevitable.

Whatever came of the 36 billion in cuts we were supposed to get from the last debt ceiling deal? Not that 36 billion in cuts amounts to anything when compared to the affects of raising the debt ceiling.
Boehner will cave, you can bank on it.
