Mitch McConnell has many virtues as a legislator. Unfortunately, brokering deals advantageous to Republicans is not one of them.
McConnell’s defenders will say that his most recent deal was the best any Republican could do under the circumstances. Perhaps. But this defense ignores the fact that it was McConnell’s prior deal — the one creating the “fiscal cliff” — that established these adverse circumstances.
Let’s step back and consider the impact of McConnell’s deals on the valiant effort of House Republicans in 2011 to use the debt-ceiling to attack the debt. So far, the results are as follows: (1) the debt ceiling was raised, (2) the debt continued to soar, (3) the latest McConnell-brokered deal will increase, rather than decrease, the debt, and (4) taxes are about to go up.

Forgetting party labels, there are two groups of people in America at this point - Socialists and Conservative Tradionalists.
The Dems represent the Socialists - VERY WELL.
The GOP has a foot in BOTH camps and represents NEITHER AT ALL WELL.
Its time for th GOP to GO AWAY. Let the Socialist GOP members join the Rats and let everyone else become ANOTHER POLITICAL PARTY without the baggage of the GOP.

It died a long time ago. It is like a 2013 Mustang. The ONLY thing it has in common with the 1965 model is the name.

Sure. Call it the RACIST party. If you don't, they will, like they've done to the Tea Party.
Its hard to start a third party, but at this point, the Tea Party has the framework for one. It just has to do what it can to get established and convince conservative Tea Party backed GOP members to join.
Its the only way.
Initally, it will lead to more Rat victories as this new party battles it out with the GOP.
But it HAS to be done.
As last night’s vote demonstrated and Boehner’s capitualtion on Obamacare demonstrated, and the farcical campaign Romney ran demonstrated, we have no choice.
The RINOs leave us no alternative at this point.

As you say it will take time to get big enough to win, perhaps we will never win—————————————————————————— but what are we winning now?

Too many Republicans are going into the Senate and the House with their pants down, bent over, and spread cheeks.
I ask myself do I really want to belong to a party run by Boehner, McConnell, McCain , Graham, and others of their liberal ilk?
I want to go to the polls and vote for someone I want to win, not some Quisling a-hole picked by RINO’s.
NOW is the time for a 3rd party... but we’ve sent conservatives to Washington before and they end up like the rest there. NOW is the time for term limits. SOMEHOW we have to find a way to get that to happen. They won’t vote for it, so have to figure out a way for the people to demand it, to fix congress from the outside in.
Being called the Racist party doesn’t bother me a bit.

We DO need term limits and we need to get rid of lawyers in politics.
There should be a law that any new law written has to be understandable to the 5th. grade education level reader we are graduating from todays High Schools.
Some good came out of this:
1 - Mo more “temporary” tax rates that “expire”
2 - Capital gains rates locked in at a rate of 20% or less.
3 - A permanent Estate Tax rate and minimum in very good territory
Rather than join the herd and moan, I am going to look at the details, listen and watch what happens over the next few months. The fight is far from over.
Yes, but being tired of it hasn't changed it one bit. I personally couldn't care less what they call me. I do think that whatever we (conservatives) do going forward, we will be marginalized as they have the Tea Party, or, as they have the GOP. Nothing but racisists that are for the rich.

Of course, but no more “cliff” games. Obama is going to make “permanent” 98% of the Bush tax regime.
Next, the debt limit with a new Congress. Spending comes next now that taxes are dealt with.
