Yes you read that correctly. Nancy Pelosi used the term assault magazines in an interview with MSNBCs Andrea Mitchell in talking about how the kind of firepower allegedly used in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings should be outlawed.
Before I continue, I have been guilty myself in referring to certain types of weapons, even some I own myself are considered by the left to be assault weapons. I have not cared what people have called them in the past, to be honest, that does not make them anymore or less dangerous than any other gun. However, in reading a piece by Jan Morgan, I think Im going to stop referring to them as such. Heres what Morgan writes:
My AR is not an assault rifle. It is not an assault weapon. It will never be used to criminally assault anyone. My AR will only be used for defensive and sporting purposes. It is simply a modern musket.
Continuing with that point, lets define our terms here. Assault is defined by Noah Webster as:
1. An attack or violent onset, whether by an individual, a company, or an army. An assault by private persons may be made with or without weapons. As assault by an army is a violent hostile attack; and when made upon a fort or fortified place is called a storm, as opposed to sap or siege.
2. An attack by hostile words or measures; as, an assault upon the prerogatives of a prince, or upon a constitution of government.
3. In Law, an unlawful setting upon ones person; an attempt or offer to beat another, without touching his person; as by lifting the fist or a cane, in a threatening manner. If the blow aimed takes effect, it is a battery.
So Morgan is correct...

San Fran Nan wants to ban Newsweak, Time, Mother Jones, and other leftist rags? I'm against that! It violates the Constitution; But even though Nan swore to uphold the Constitution, she only wants to dismantle and destroy constitutional government.
Mark
Hey, a Magpul with a full load of 30 rounds is pretty heavy. I wouldn't want to get assaulted/hit by one.
Hey Nancy, I don't want to get hit by iPads either - better ban free speech and using the internet from tablets.
Do they still sell “Soldier of Fortune”?
;D
Exactly. Average home invasion "crew" is 3 people. Under stress I may miss, or they may be wearing some kind of body armor. So my first shot or two may be wasted. I still want the ability to (at least) double-tap them all, with a reserve. So yeah, I have 15 in the Glock, 30 in the AR. The 12 ga has a quality all its own and just 5 high brass... Get over it Nancy, magazines, weapons, and ammunition aren't the problem. It is the whack behind the trigger that's the problem. Armed citizens such as myself are prepared to do a community service and remove the whack from society.
Vogue is more of an intellectual insult than assault.
:)
All 10 pages of it?!?
If ignorance is bliss the Dems must be the most happy I can think of.
Anyone who has read the live of Bonnie and Clyde knows he had a preference for full auto Browning automatic Rifles (BAR). He would braze two magazines together making one with lots of firepower! He stole his from National Guard armories.
“So, she wants people to be armed with only one-shot pistols?”
Fine, line her up before such a firing squad.
“She doesnt want the peasants to be armed at all.”
Can you blame her? She would not be safe walking down most suburban neighborhood streets.
1/11/2011:
Ex-Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa., published a New York Times op-ed saying “it is incumbent on all Americans to create an atmosphere of civility and respect in which political discourse can flow freely, without fear of violent confrontation.” I helpfully pointed out that the Congressman, who lost his seat this past November, would do well to heed his own advice given what he had said about Florida Governor Rick Scott: “Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him.”
oh, those tolerant leftists. Imagine what they could do to an unarmed citizenry.
pelosi’s newsletter is an assault magazine.
Those who would disarm us are assigned federally-funded armed guards for their protection.
Assault newspapers like the NYTs are bigger than magazines. Ban them first.
My thoughts exactly. Vogue, Cosmo, People, Us, etc. assault my sensibilities. The fact these rags fly off the checkout racks like they do should scare the living you know what out of any thinking person.
That said, I may not be able to buy a good home defense carbine or the things needed to make it most useful by this time next year.
bimbo’s in Congress Assaulting my freedoms need to be Outlawed!
Some body need to outlaw this bimbo....ASAP...
