If you have Amazon Prime, you can also loan one more current book a month.
I signed up for Amazon Prime since I do a lot of my Christmas Shopping through Amazon and the Prime included free shipping. Paid for the annual subscription on the first few orders! I haven’t taken advantage of the loaners yet because I downloaded so many free and inexpensive books! Prime gives you free movies and TV shows as well.

I am probably Amazon’s worst nightmare with their Prime membership! I have gotten better this year about putting things in my cart and not making impulse purchases, but building up an order. And I have their Amazon store card, with six months interest free financing when a single purchase is $150.

Slightly off point, but possibly of interest. Amazon just began a new delivery system for those who can’t be home to meet the UPS guy. They’re putting Amazon kiosks in various mail box establishments, many of them 24 hours. They ship the package there, and send you a password, then you take it to the kiosk, enter it, and the device spits out your package.
