Overtly hostile deer in Humble’s section of Texas are due to one thing: Coffee.
Specifically the stuff I described.
It’s probably the sugar, if it is sweet enough, deer will drink anything.
Even heavy liqour.
Deer are beautiful, but a bit unpredictable. I can imagine that sugar, caffeine or alcohol might be just the final fillip that would tip them over the edge into psychosis. There was a story in the news today about a hunter who was attacked and gored by a deer, and that’s probably just the tip of the iceberg.
