There seems to be an unspoken respect for the office that is standing in the way of confronting the problem with this man when the man is as destructive a person to the very foundations of this country as we have ever seen since it’s beginings. So is it safe to say that they will allow the destruction of this nation rather than separating the office from the man and confront and defeat the man to save the office?
You have described the soft underbelly of America: We trust, but do not verify.
There was none of this “unspoken respect for the office” that stopped the confrontation and destruction of President Nixon. Not to mention that he was unquestionably qualified to hold the office and a fierce fighter against commies in American government.
