The house of representatives holds the purse-strings, and if the ATF tries to classify semiautos and magazines as NFA weapons, they must be put out of business.

The house of representatives holds the purse-strings, and if the ATF tries to classify semiautos and magazines as NFA weapons, they must be put out of business. Except that there has been no budget for 4 years. There's just been some sort of "continuing resolution". Obama would just veto the budget and blame the resulting government shutdown on "those gun-fanatic Republicans".

For the last several years the House has approved a continuing resolution. Means business as usual. Look for Boehner to do it again
