Are handguns being banned in CA through attrition?

From the website:

View list of handgun models whose status has changed recently:

• Recently Added Handgun Models, pdf
  Models added recently to the Roster of Handguns certified for sale.

• Recently Removed Handguns, pdf
  Handgun models whose certification has expired or otherwise removed from the Roster. These models may no longer be sold, offered for sale, or manufactured in California.

You'll note the first list is one page long and has five guns on it, while the second list is 24 pages long and has perhaps 600 guns on it (my estimate), which means California bans 120 times more guns every year than it certifies for sale. But I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

For a moment there I thought Crazyland wanted only biodegradable guns made from materials that would break down after an allotted time.

Just picked up an LCR in 357 yesterday. I guess the gun store didn’t know it had been decertified. Not that it matters, dammit; I lost it in a boating accident this morning!
