Florida law does allow an exemption to the deadline in an emergency and West’s attorney are expected to argue that the exemption applies.

I would call it an emergency when your newly certifiable numbers show 900 votes in a precinct of 7 registered voters. There are a whole lot of people who face emergency incarceration for choosing to run out the clock rather than certify these numbers.
