I wholeheartedly agree that public employees unions for any kind of service at any level of government should be eliminated because the human source of their compensation has no say about the value provided. Even the socialist POTUSA Franklin Roosevelt was against unions for federal public employees. Even private employee unions have out lived their real benefit to societal well being. I remember the days in the early 1930s when there was tremendous civil strife over unionization. My mother would come home each day when work was available from a piecework job. She would be crying because union thugs then, as now, wanted her to help establish their power. It was a depressive time for many people wanting to work during a National depression. I tend to believe today that unions at the time did serve a collective purpose but today they are more of a freight train for thug conductors than useful societally.
At about that time the public sector unions were getting a foothold and they have now morphed into the same thing, maybe worse because they've totally taken control of our education system and fatally in many cases the city, county and state retirement systems.
