The only acceptable compromise is to raise all taxes (not just the rich). Until it starts hitting people in the wallet, they will keep asking for the free stuff.

If you give ground now you will be called a liberal democrat by democrats as they did to Bush One. (Remember: "Read my lips" and what they did to him?)

I think the party of Lincoln is past it’s time. They’ve lost two Presidential races being moderate. In 2010 the House was handed to them to stop Obama. They did it just barely but inspired no one. They haven’t cut one penny from the budget. When it comes down to shutting down government or any other confrontation, they scream and run like little girls. The best they could do on the debt ceiling was punt. They really have no purpose. They’ve saved us from almost nothing.
