“Atlas Shrugs” is fiction. And long and boring in parts. However, in her fiction writings, Ayn Rand tapped into gold. Humans will always defend their self interest. These companies are making their decisions based on the most primal of human instincts...survival.

When liberals talk about people voting and protecting their self interests..ie. voting for more government handouts, they forgot to factor in those paying for it also will protect their self interests.
