It's really quite simple. I get it. It had nothing to do with Mitt Romney. He ran a very disciplined and focused campaign. Far superior in resources, focus, organization, and discipline than John McCain's. None of the Republicans running this year could have defeated Obama. The reasons are clear and obvious to me:
Barack Obama is implementing here in the US the very same policies Hugo Chavez has successfully implemented in Venezuela: Take over key industries. Get the majority of the population dependent on entitlements and government support programs to secure their votes. Raise taxes and redistribute wealth away from the dwindling productive classes. Ignore our colossal debt.
This has been going on for centuries. In ancient Rome politicians in the Republic and later the emperors bought off or subsidized the urban, often shiftless and unemployed urban masses with free food and entertainment and public spectacles. This was done through government largesse and increased taxes on the decreasing productive members of the society.
The problem is no one really cares---not even with spectacle of Europe collapsing under monstrous debt levels and unsustainable entitlement programs. With $16 trillion in debt, one could plausibly argue that the US is already effectively bankrupt---we have more debt than all of the EU countries combined.
The other problem is NO SENSE OF URGENCY about any of this. Looking at the overall vote totals, 14 million fewer voters particpated in the election than four years ago. John McCain actually received more votes than Mitt Romney.
Democracy really cannot work, Our founding fathers set up a limited government constitutional republic, not an unlimited government mass democracy. Our founders feared mob rule and for good reason. They knew the masses would eventually vote for themselves more benefits at the expense of others. That is why they set up the Electoral College and required voters in federal elections to be property owners. A very wise idea in retrospect.
The situation is made worse by our dysfunctional public education syatem. Where young minds are inculcated at very young age by neo-Marxist teachers unions and later radical university professors where they are taught far more about Martin Luther King and Cesar Chavez and social justice than they are taught about George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Patrick Henry, and Benjamin Franklin. If our young people were properly instructed, they would know that the entire purpose of the Constitution was to limit the power, size, and scope of the Federal Government, and leave most powers to state and local governments while at the same time protecting inndividual liberty and private property rights.
Our pathetic pop culture, depraved Hollyweird celebrities, not to mention a professional news media nearly 90% in the tank for the Democrat Party in every election simply hasten our plunge into the abyss.
We Lost because we sent the Wrong man, Unprepared, to the Wrong fight.
Dems win because they have no scruples at all. It’s about Win at any and all costs period. And they’re very good at it. Lie, Cheat, Steall, they balk at nothing.
Our Party bosses shoved Romney at us who blathered on about being a completely different man as President than he was as Governor.
And enough people Saw it, Smelled it, and Disbelieved it, so that we, Lost.
If we’d Had a Conservative we’d have aced this election, but what we Got, was a Lying, Big Government RINO, lowlife.
I don’t necessarily buy that argument. While Akin and Mourdock made foolish gaffes which cost them their elections, Romney easily carried Missouri and Indiana. A more instructive race to look at might be Scott Brown in Massachusetts. There you had the perfect RINO Republican moderate in a northeast state. Never made a single gaffe and was a capable state senator and non threatening US Senator. Moderate or liberal on all of the social issues. But that wasn’t good enough for the voters of MA who decided they were more comfotable with a radical doctrinaire left wing ideologue who never deviates from radical left ideological purity. Truly frightening that the voters selected this individual for the US Senate. Akin’s and Mourdock basically threw their seats away with their boneheaded comments, they could have easily been carried in on Romney’s coattails who carried both states by comfortable margins. Every Republican should know by now you never mention abortion and rape in the same sentence.
Too early to say why we lost, because certain things just don’t add up. Ok, so this was a +6 D election per exit polls...so how does the House of Reps stay R in that kind of election? People far smarter and knowledgeable than us need to delve into the data and find out what happened.
But let’s start out with the facts, the first and foremost being that Obama barely won. Let’s stop pretending that we got crushed. If anyone listened to Charles Krauthammer last night, he had the right take on this. There is no need for soul searching he said, there is just a need to GOTV and deal with the huge non-white gap.
People keep saying this, despite all the evidence against it.
Respectfully, BS!
We lost becaue we didn’t turn out and vote. Part of that might just be that we ran a moderate (left) Republican..again. We simply can’t compete with “Obama Phone” with an “Obama Phone” with fewer minutes.
McCain Palin=59.9M votes
Obama Phone 2012=59.2M Votes
W 2004= 62 (?)M votes.
It ain’t the demographics, it’s GOPe squish canidates. We need conservatives. Ryan isn’t a bad choice.

This just doesn’t compute. Vote cheating doubtless was one reason. But Obama got FEWER votes than he did last time. And Mitt Romney got far FEWER votes than McCain, even though McCain was a lousy candidate, too.
Romney was even worse. He pulled out all the stops attacking his fellow Republicans, but he did very little against Obama. He “won” the debates mainly because Obama was completely unprepared for the first debate. But there was nothing impressive about Romney in the debates.
The numbers tell the story. Millions of people who should have turned out to vote did not, because they refused to vote for Romney.
Was that their fault? No, it was the pundit’s and GOPe’s fault for ONCE AGAIN putting forward a candidate that the base didn’t want. You’d think they’d learn after about 10 times, but they’d rather lose than put anyone into office who refused to go along with their corrupt, pork-laden program.
1.The democrat party is a criminal organization which we all know did massive voter fraud.
2. democrats have been importing millions of foreign immigrants legal and illlegal . these foreigner together with blacks and hispanics make up almost 30% of the population and they vote democrat 90%
3. The media creates a false reality and adds at least 15% to any democrat candidate. The media uses a syllable a Republican says and hammers that into every potential voters mind (maccaca, etc). A Republican can't ever make a mistake or say a wrong word ever, or anything that can be spun badly ever. Meanwhile democrat Obama gets away with murdering 4 Americans and covering it up lies yet no one knows about it.
We in Louisiana even with the chocolate city of new olreans had 70% voter turnout and we voted 60% to 40% for Romney.
Alabama, OK, and others seemed to be the same.

“We didn’t lose. We just ran out of time.” (Lombardi I think)
Yup. We need somebody more liberal than Romney next time. That’s the ticket.
That's the part I can't wrap my mind around.
For the first time in my 48 years of voting, I had to wait in line over a half hour in my little rural precinct, never had to wait over 5 minutes before.
We had next to no campaigning by R/R in the state, but the turnout was massive.
Are we that big of an anomaly or did something corrupt happen in swing states?
Things just don't pass the smell test for me based from what happened here.
Reasons we lost include:
You can’t blame the results on anything or anyone except changing demographics in the US. There are simply simply more of “them” than us. What puzzles me is the low voter turnout, when everyone was posting yesterday about the long lines they had never seen before. Sounds like there may have been some voter fraud going on, on a major scale.
Look at the county maps. You’ll see the problem.
Yes Louisiana is conservative and so is Tennessee. And Romney won both. But we are sparsely populated. The vast majority of county’s vote conservative. But we are countered by super high populated cities and coastal cities that vote for democrats.
We need an effective plan to educate those densely populated cities and get them to swing conservative.
Obama won because we are dissolving into the minority. The left wing has been expanding it's base while we fight over whether a candidate has every single last value that we think a conservative should have. For some it's abortion, for others it religion, for still others it is whether he washes his car on Sunday. If a candidate does not possess every one of these traits he is labeled a RHINO and then claim that is the reason he lost .. it is not.
We are losing because the Democrats are appealing to more voters than the Republicans are ... sad but true. They also commit voter fraud, lie, etc but that is another matter altogether. It's disgusting, but it is effective.
One could also argue “it’s the demographics, stupid.”
Yes the media has always been in the tank for the Dems, making our efforts doubly more difficult.
But now it looks as as if we having demograhics working against us as well. I think Romney got close to 60% of the white vote, enough to trigger a Reagan or Nixon like landslide a few decades ago, but not enough to win anymore.
If that is truly the case, we are lost, as the old cliche says, "You can't fix stupid".
