I’ve had to come to the same conclusion.
I would vote for anyone at random from the phone book ahead of seeing O in the White House another 4 years.
He wasn’t my first, second, or third choice either. But here we are, and I’ve come to the conclusion Romney will be as Conservative as the current climate allows him to be.
Benghazi, Fast & Furious, Solar company crony socialism, etc. ... Mitt is infinitely better than the current Occupy_WH disaster.
2008 = anything but McCain...look where that got us
*Anybody*
I believe Obama has malice in his heart for America ... I don’t see that in Romney. A lot of folks will be voting ABO - let’s hope it is enough.
If Romney wavers during his presidency, let's "encourage" him then. But for now, I say a united front for Romney is the way to go.
0bama is the devil incarnate. A vote for him is a for for pure EVIL!
I have to disagree. Clinton had a distaste for the US Military and gutted our defense. Romney does not and will try to undo the damage the last 4 years under Onumbnuts hath wrought.
I UNFORTUNATELY voted for Romney last week. It was the most repulsive I have felt voting in a long time. The guy makes my skin crawl. However, voting for Virgil Goode which I so wanted to was not a good idea this round because Obama needs to be out of office. This convinced me even more the last three months. I don’t know what Obama’s problem is but he seems to be worse than ever. Anyway screw your principles this once and vote for the biggest jerk the GOP ever put in front of us, Romney! It is what is best for the country at this time!!! 1996 I probably would not be saying the same, but in 2012 it is the right thing to do.
I only read the headline but, congratulations. You came to your senses.
Hopefully, Obama will lose in a landslide of historic proportions. Otherwise, it means We The People failed to receive or heed a very clear warning and it won’t be long before liberalism rises again, stronger and eager to inflict more and worse damage than ever before.
Sick to death of Obama.
Now, if only FR had an “edit” function where I could go back and fix the typos and grammatical goofs... *sigh*...
Memo to self (again): Proofread, THEN post. It’s better that way.
I dont expect anyone to follow my lead nor would I suggest that anyone vote for any canidate other than the person they believe in..
I really dont think anyone on this forum will be persuaded to change their vote.
I came around the same way in July.
I knew he would be okay with the base after my family here in TX did the same thing. We are all hard core righties.
I’m at that place too.
One caveat, if it seems like a unreversible landslide for mitt I might allow myself that secret pleasure of voting for whoever else is on the ballot.
Yeah it does, and you are doing the right thing.
If it makes you feel any better, in a 2 party system like ours, general elections are NOT an affirmative endorsement of any candidate or policy - they are simply a choice between the only 2 options that can win. Our winner take all, 2 party system does not allow for coalition government - so you will most often be stuck voting for the least bad option instead of a candidate you are truly excited about. 2 party general elections are as much about voting to stop a candidate/party as it is about electing someone you actually like. For probably most of us, Ronald Reagan was the only general election presidential candidate we could really be genuinely excited to vote FOR. Sadly I was too young at the time.
Back in January I would have said that there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between Mitt and Obama. Now I put my hope in that 9cents of difference. I will be thrilled to vote for Romney and against the Obamination. No other choice.
You know, I have come to believe that if he is not the devil incarnate he is certainly working for the prince of darkness.
