A 3-year-old basset hound named Buddy has died after being deliberately set on fire in a ravine outside Camarillo, authorities said Tuesday.
A neighbor in Camarillo Heights spotted a small blaze about 3:20 a.m. Saturday and called the Ventura County Fire Department. When firefighters arrived, they found Buddy severely burned.
Arson investigators discovered evidence that someone had poured lighter fluid on the dog, according to a news release from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
No arrests have been made. Buddy's owner, who was interviewed by investigators, was not identified.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

You are a wise owner.
Despite the fact that my dog yard is locked and surrounded by a 6 foot wood fence, whenever they’re out there, I’m out there...watching.
[so boy, do I *ever* dread winter coming]

That's how Jeffrey Dahmer started.
Based on the header I can’t even read this post.
Poor dog.
I am sick.
Some people deserve to die a horrible death.
Maryland is a SICK state in many ways. Just wait until 6 November to see the extent.
My only question...
Why?
Find that or those SOBS, pour gasoline on them and light them up. I’ll buy the gas and bring the matches.
You’ll have to fight me to light the match!!
